What
is a Green Map?
A
Green Map charts the places where nature and
the designed world interconnect, using the international
Green Map Icons to symbolize the different kinds
of ecologically and culturally significant sites.
From Tororo, Uganda, Kyoto and Tokyo, Japan,
Kopenhagen, Denmark to nearly 100 U.S. cities
including Seattle, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Chicago
and Detroit the Green Map System has inspired
urban dwellers of all ages to present an alternative,
environmental view of their cities.
Welcome to Greater Columbus Green Map
The Greater Columbus Green Map provides an alternative to the traditional maps with which we are all familiar. The map presents the area through a green lens and reflects the incredible natural, cultural, and economic resources we have in central Ohio.

To produce the Greater Columbus Green Map, MORPC’s Greenways Program joined the Green Map System, an organization that coordinates regionally flavored, locally produced Green Maps throughout the world.
